Job Summary:

The Machinist I sets-up and operates a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. May also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines while maintaining a clean and orderly work area.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Review drawing or instructions to plan the sequence of actions for the workorder. Determine if anything needs to be purchased to make the part.
  • Set-up machine, adjust and operate machines.
  • Keep records of time spent for each workorder, complete daily and weekly time sheets ensuring accuracy when charging specific workorders to projects.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages.
  • Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy
  • Actively promotes and participates in shop wide and personal 6S goals and achievements.
  • Follow BiSN HSE ethics and work in a safe manner. No shortcuts where safety is concerned, Safety First.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Able to make minor assembly or test procedure decisions.
  • Interacts with technicians, project managers, engineers, and other departments
  • Able to come up with a solution when at a stopping point
  • Machines, calipers, and other tools used in machining parts.
  • Able to follow and improve upon Standard Operating Procedures where applicable.

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma

Preferred Experience:

  • XYZ proturn
  • CNC Turner

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £17.00-£18.00 per hour

Schedule:

8 hour shift
Day shift

Work Location: In person
