Key responsibilities

The Manufacturing Technician will support the engineering function, manufacturing tools or subassemblies. The candidate will be able to feedback operational best practices to the engineering team, from his or her experience when manufacturing the tool.

  • Build and assemble tools, including specialized thermite heaters
  • Take responsibility for planning own work to meet production and schedule requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and conduct root cause analysis of any manufacturing issues based on understanding of BiSN melting alloy technology, and downhole thermite heater technology.
  • Monitor and adjust production processes or equipment for quality and productivity.
  • Keep production logs and maintain inventory of job materials.
  • Contribute to operation’s and assembly manual content
  • Contribute to design reviews, proposing feedback based on operational experience
  • Complete JSA’s and HIR to company standards
  • Keep clean equipment and work areas
  • Contributes to the workplace improvement in terms of HSE and 5s

Skills & Requirements

  • Experience as a Manufacturing Technician a strong plus
  • Knowledge and practice of 5s principles
  • Read and understand engineering drawings and processes
  • Strong HSE ethics
  • Self-starter and self-motivated, ability to mentor other less senior technicians
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment
  • Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of general laboratory/manufacturing safety & record keeping
  • Good mathematical skill is essential and the ability to manipulate mathematical data and convert between units of measure
