Melissa works to make the back-office a “partner” within the organization, versus a burden, by providing other managers with the financial tools they need to make informed decisions in a timely manner. Her work history with small to mid-sized companies gives her intricate knowledge of all facets of accounting and finance, from processing transactions to board meeting presentations and financing negotiations. This, coupled with her experience with software implementation, helps her to understand challenges at all levels of the organization and develop processes that allow the back office to run seamlessly. Her focuses include helping companies make data driven decisions, controlling costs while a small business is growing, and ensuring accounting compliance with accurate and timely financial reporting.
Melissa’s career began in public accounting before shifting into oilfield services. She also spent time as an inspector for the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board where she was responsible for assessing audit firms’ compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and analyzing and interpreting new Auditing Standards. Since, she has spent time with several other small oilfield service companies as well as at an investment banking company. Her experience also includes mergers and acquisitions, debt recapitalizations, reorganizations, financial advisory, software implementation, and budgeting.
