Job Summary:

As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of engineers in the development and delivery of technical projects. Your role will encompass overseeing the entire engineering process, from project initiation to execution, while ensuring the team’s efficiency, productivity, and professional growth. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, such as product managers, designers, and other stakeholders, to drive the successful completion of projects.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their full potential. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Plan, prioritize, and manage engineering and R&D projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and budgetary constraints. Coordinate with stakeholders to define project goals, scope, and requirements, and effectively allocate resources to meet deliverables.

Possess a strong technical background to understand and provide guidance on complex engineering concepts and methodologies. Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies and promote their adoption to enhance product development processes and outcomes.

Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other teams to define project objectives, specifications, and deliverables. Foster effective communication channels, facilitate collaboration, and resolve interdepartmental conflicts to drive seamless execution.

Provide support to all manufacturing facilities including technical based troubleshooting of equipment, modifications of existing equipment, and installation of new equipment.

Continuously evaluate and improve engineering processes, workflows, and methodologies. Identify areas for optimization, automation, or enhancement, and implement best practices to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and ensure high-quality outputs.

Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify development opportunities for team members. Support their career growth through training, coaching, and mentorship initiatives.

Identify potential risks and obstacles to project success and develop mitigation strategies. Proactively address technical challenges, resource constraints, and dependencies to ensure smooth project execution.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and emerging technologies.
  • Proven experience in project management, including planning, resource allocation, and risk assessment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Familiarity with Agile or other iterative development methodologies.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • 10% Travel requirements include both international and domestic travel.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical) from an accredited institution; master’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Extensive experience in product development engineering, with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a strong focus on downhole tool design.
  • Minimum of 10 years of prior management experience.
  • Knowledgeable in the application of current engineering software (i.e., 3DCAD, etc.).
  • Extensive knowledge of oilfield drilling, interventions, and P&A operations.
