Flying The Flag For BiSN Downhole Technology

Over the course of 2018 so far, our downhole technology team has traveled across the world, flying the BiSN flag at trade shows, exhibitions and conferences.

We made a special visit to Aberdeen for the Offshore Achievement Awards and what a memorable night it was! We were delighted to win both the Innovator and Great Company (SME) categories; testament to the hard work of everyone in the BiSN family.

Other highlights include our CEO Paul Carragher’s visit to Myanmar to present at the SPE: Frontier Deepwater Development workshop. As one of the largest offshore gas fields is based in Asia Pacific, it is fantastic to be involved in the emerging deepwater market in the region. These efforts are all part of our push into the market here and we are looking forward to running our first tools in the region later this year.

Our Applications Manager, Jeff Fulks has been clocking up the air miles, representing BiSN at the SPE Aberdeen Annual Sand Management Euroforum, as well as visiting Saudi Arabia.

Closer to home, we have been kept busy in Texas, attending both the SPE/ ICoTA Coiled Tubing and Well Intervention Conference & Exhibition and the IADC/SPE Drilling Conference & Exhibition.

Our travels have also taken us to Malaysia and Australia and culminated in May when we exhibited at OTC Houston. We were delighted to be chosen to present on ‘Well Abandonment Solutions Utilizing Bismuth and Thermite,’ within the conference’s technical programme, at what is one of the world’s most respected offshore events.

Where next? We will be returning to Aberdeen for Decom Offshore 2018 this month and are also looking forward to attending the inaugural Decom North Sea Awards. We have been shortlisted for the Outstanding Innovation Award – fingers crossed!
